Teaching Philosophy
Every student has the potential to learn, grow, and succeed. This is achieved through a supportive environment from the teacher, parents and guardians, and studio community. I want my students to find joy in their musical journey.
Learning an instrument is more than just learning notes and rhythms— it’s about developing a student in all aspects of their life. Taking music lessons requires dedication, responsibility, self-discipline, and patience. We learn how to persevere, to be introspective, to see multiple viewpoints, to build confidence, and so much more. We have fun and enjoy ourselves while dedicating ourselves to improving our skills every day. Our journey is not just defined by the final performance, but by the lessons and hours of practice that glues everything together.
Every student is unique and has their own dreams and aspirations. Every student deserves to be nurtured to their own strengths and interests and at their own pace. Every student has their own voice to share, and that is their foundation as a musician.
I want my students to play their instrument with joy, generosity, and confidence. I want to form meaningful relationships with my students and help them find fulfillment in all areas of life.
Monthly Tuition Rates
30-minute lessons: $115/month
45-minute lessons: $160/month
60-minute lessons: $205/month
Tuition is divided into 10 equal monthly payments (August to May). Discounts for multiple instruments and/or additional family members available. Summer lessons are separate and more flexible to allow for family vacations.
Lessons are conducted weekly in the Overland Park, KS area or online.
30 minute lessons are recommended for beginner students.
45 minute lessons are recommended for intermediate and middle school students.
60 minute lessons are recommended for advanced and high school students.

I encourage my students to pursue musical opportunities outside of lessons. My students have participated in Kansas district and state solo/ensemble contests, All-District and All-State auditions and orchestras, and in the Youth Symphony of Kansas City and Olathe Youth Symphony programs. Please let me know if you are interested in any of these opportunities.
